This year’s WWE Draft ended on Monday Night RAW. After last week’s SmackDown LowDown, RAW Talk featured a list with superstars drafted.
The remaining WWE stars were drafted at the two talk shows. The draft concluded last night on Monday Night RAW, and it was a big deal for all three brands. Many elite superstars have been shuffled among the WWE’s two main brands, and many superstars from NXT were also called up.
RAW Talk released a list after the main show ended. The list below contains all of the other superstars that were drafted.
Superstars selected for RAW:
- Dana Brooke
- Nikki Cross
- Johnny Gargano
- Los Lotharios
- Akira Tozawa
- Piper Niven
- Xia Li
- Tegan Fox
- Emma
- Riddick moss
- Odyssey Jones
- Jinder Mahal
Superstars selected for SmackDown
- Tamina
- Grayson Waller
The list is now complete. Both brands have received a number of NXT callups this year. These include Johnny Gargano and Grayson Wall, Zoey, Stark, Indus, Jinder, Mahal, JD, McDonagh Jones, Alba Fyre Isla Dawn Indi Hartwell Kayden Carter Katana Chance Pretty Deadly.
This year, superstars such as Baron Corbin Brock Lesnar, Omos, Cedric Alexie, Shelton Benjamin, Mustafa Ali, and Elias were not drafted. These superstars are free agents, and they can work for any brand. It’s interesting that Grayson Waller, Johnny Gargano and other players were called up by the opposing brands. Both are bitter rivals with a long history of fighting each other.
WWE Draft 2023: Ups and Downs
The draft this year was a good one for the most part. However, there were moments when the choices of each brand seemed either to be perfect or utterly absurd.
First of all, WWE made a bad decision by moving Cody Rhodes to RAW. Fans predicted that the two would have a rematch soon after his WrestleMania defeat to Roman. Cody even said that he was going to “finish the story” by dethroning Roman Reigns. It’s impossible for the two to meet since they are on opposite sides of WWE.
AJ Styles’ move to the blue-brand with his faction was probably the best possible decision for WWE. Styles was a star on SmackDown and even became its face. His momentum slowly waned after he moved to RAW. Moving to SmackDown could be beneficial for him, as he didn’t stand out much on the red-brand in singles competition. Gunther’s move to RAW was also a good one. The Intercontinental Champion defeated the entire blue brand roster and was crowned supreme. The move to RAW introduces him to a new set of opponents.
Last but not least, LA Knight remaining on SmackDown is another slap to the face of the star. Knight is a fan favorite and already has the tools to become a World Champion. Roman Reigns currently leads the blue brand. Knight will have his chance soon after he loses. He could have entered the World Heavyweight Championship tournament at RAW to try and get in the title picture.
The draft for this year is now over, and fans are looking forward to the draft of next year. Both brands must now step up and use their wrestlers at their full potential after the shuffle.
