Aljamain Sterling Upcoming Fight Update

Aljamain Sterling , the UFC Bantamweight champion. Last week, he defeated Henry Cejudo at UFC 288, held at the Prudential Center Newark in New Jersey. The obvious question is, who will the ‘Funk Master” face in his next fight?

Sterling was more active and showed excellent striking throughout the fight. Cejudo put in a good performance. Aljo won the fight by two judges. Aljamain sterling has successfully defended his third title.

Aljo made his UFC debut in 2014, at UFC 170, when he faced Cody Gibson. Sterling secured his UFC debut with a unanimously-decided victory in that fight. He has won 15 of the 23 UFC fights he’s fought in since then. Aljamain won the title for the first ever time in 2021, when he beat Petr Yán back at UFC 259 The win was controversial. Sterling has since successfully defended his title three times, with the latest one against Cejudo.

Aljamain Sterling is a controversial sportsman. On social media, he has been criticized by many. They shared their opinions about the former versatile champ. Aljamain Sterling had to grow a thicker skin in order to deal with the negative feedback. He is, after all, the first fighter who has won a championship by disqualification.

Aljamain Sterling to face Sean O’Malley in next title defence

Sean O’Malley entered the ring after the fight to challenge Aljamain for the Bantamweight Title. O’Malley is ranked #2 in the Bantamweight Series and so it makes sense. UFC President Dana White said the two could fight in August of this year.

Sean O’Malley entered the octagon while Sterling was doing his octagon-interview. Both stars exchanged heated words. UFC President Dana White, along with commentator Joe Rogan intervened to separate them. Sean O’Malley debuted in the UFC at UFC 222. Sugar Sean, who has a record of 16 wins, 1 loss and 1 no-contest along with a 1 non-contest is a fan favorite. He will be a formidable competitor for Sterling. Aljamain sterling has had a winning streak since 2018.

Sugar Sean reportedly offered O’Malley the title fight, but he gave it to Henry Cejudo in exchange for his UFC return. Aljamain Sterling spoke about the fight at the press conference after the match. He said that he was confident he could defeat O’Malley within the first round. Sterling stated that he did the same thing to Sandhagen ,”. The highly anticipated matchup may be seen by fans in August at UFC 292 Boston, Massachusetts.
