Christian Horner revealed the mentality that Red Bull Racing has maintained since 2005, when it entered Formula 1. Dietrich Mateschitz bought the former Jaguar team 18 years ago. Milton Keynes appeared to be a very wild and loud team. Horner says that despite the fact they look different, not much has really changed.
Red Bull was the dominant team in 2010-2013, winning titles with Sebastian Vettel. Now they’re back to dominating the sport with Max Verstappen. Christian Horner acknowledged that the team played loud music when they entered the sport and pumped up an “Energy Station”. Horner believed that the other teams didn’t take the team seriously. Red Bull, at the end of 2005 proved the others wrong when they acquired Adrian Newey.
Horner said, “We weren’t scared to have some fun and express ourselves in a different way.” It hasn’t really changed. We’re still the team who plays the loudest music. We’re a real pain for anyone next to us, because some mechanics’ music choices are a bit questionable these days .”
Christian Horner says that Red Bull is up to any challenge
The Red Bull boss said that the team is different. “As a group, we have a can-do attitude that no challenge is to great. If that was the case, then we would never have made our own engines and we wouldn’t have achieved any of what we’ve achieved in Formula 1. We have a strong sense of unity, and everyone is working together. It’s a team effort – there’s no “I” in it. .”
Christian Horner spoke of the challenges the team faced. Red Bull was forced to compete in Formula 1, the most competitive sport. They became a championship winning team in five years. The 2014 regulation change posed a serious threat to their success, even though they were successful for four years. Horner admitted that his team was unable to compete with their rivals. It was therefore a tough time for Red Bull.
Horner said that a less efficient Renault engine could have led the team to a “downwards spiral”. They were able to control what they could and stop the spiral. Red Bull was able to win races every season, and take advantage of circuits that suited their car. Once Honda entered the picture, however, they were once again in the ‘hunt’. Horner believes that the team has a hunger and motivation to win.
