Holger rune and Nick Kyrgios will meet on a tennis courts. The exhibition match titled Energi Danmark Champions battle will take place in Royal Arena, Copenhagen on 24 May.
The young Australian and the Dane are both fans of one another. Both young Danes and Australians are big fans of each other. It seems that their wish has come true.
Nick Kyrgios is yet to play a match on the professional tour this season. He was out of action for the last few months due to a knee injury, and then subsequent surgery. He played his last match against Novak Djokovic. It was also a exhibition-cum-charity match organized on the sidelines of the Australian Open 2023. This match could be the first step in his comeback to the tour.Nick Kyrgios expressed his excitement about the match against Holger Rane.
Nick Kyrgios also loves Holger rune , and his attitude. He offered to be the coach of the young Dane. Relevant Tennis posted this on their social media.
“I’d love to coach or mentor a player.” Holger Rune is the only person I would like to help,” reads the caption.
Holger Rune, in a recent interview conducted on the sidelines at the BMW Open, spoke about his excitement regarding the match against Nick Kyrgios.
“For sure. The more tennis is covered in Denmark, I’m happier. The exhibition match between me and Nick Kyrgios in Copenhagen on the 24th of May will be even more helpful. Holger Rune replied when asked how he felt about tennis’ increasing popularity in Denmark.
Holger Rune, who has won a number of titles in recent years, added the BMW Open Singles title to his list after beating Botic de Zandschulp at the final.

Nick Kyrgios is a frequent supporter of Holger Rune. Nick Kyrgios believes that Holger Rune is a young Dane with great potential who can win Grand Slams.
“Holger’s potential is immense, and is large enough to win multiple grand slams in his career.” In an earlier interview, Holger, the current world No.26 said that it could be a big deal for tennis.
Holger Rune was also praised for his work ethic. He believes that the 19 year old is passionate about the sport. He also described him as a fun character on court.
“Holger’s play is very entertaining.” Nick Kyrgios said that Holger has an amazing work ethic, because he loves the sport.
It is mutual. Holger Rune once told a story about how Nick Kyrgios supported him when he played on the Futures Circuit.
“I played on the Futures Tour. He was polite and very kind to me. I said ‘Ok, I’ll try it and text him’. He replied. We’ve been in a good relationship ever since. I have a great deal of respect for him. In an interview, the World No.7 said: “He’s a helluva player.”
Both players took part in the World Tennis League for 2022 but they never got to play each other. They did, however, play a doubles game. Nick Kyrgios partnered with Bianca Andreescu for Team Eagles, while Holger rune paired up with Eugenie Bourchard for Team Kites. Team Eagles won the match.
It may be their first singles match. There is a possibility for both players to face off against each other if Nick Kyrgios does return on tour at the French Open.
