Aljamain Sterling won the UFC championship after a disqualification on UFC 259. Aljamain’s victory in the fight that was going in favor of Petr Yan suddenly changes to a stunning one.
Sterling kicked Yan in the first round. Sterling played a dodge-hit while Yan tried to grapple. Yan also landed a body-kick. Yan landed a quick jab to the right after searching for the hit point. Sterling, on the other hand was pushing Yan with kicks. After 10 seconds both fighters went into a frenzied punching frenzy.
Both fighters increased their speed in the second and third round. Sterling was throwing a lot more jabs and Yan was doing damage to his left hand just as he was going to throw a punch. Sterling tried to decrease Yan’s stamina by clinching him constantly. Yan’s takedown in 2 nd forced Sterling to keep Sterling busy in 3 rd. Yan’s takedowns were flawless in both rounds.

Sterling Corner believed they were winning, but three judges ruled that Petr Yan won against Sterling. Yan catches Sterling’s kick as both fighters begin the round by kicking. Yan then gets the takedown. Yan had been giving Sterling chopping kicks, which were not doing much damage. But when Sterling attempted to take him down, Yan gave a great knee to the body.
Yan delivered a punch so hard that Sterling blinked. It looked as though Yan had won this round, since he scored many points. Sterling tried to knee Petr Yan in the head this time. Yan’s disqualifying punch was obvious. Mark Smith warned him to not throw the blows in that way, but he could not find the space so threw the wrong one.
Sterling was declared winner by disqualification. The former champion’s bad luck was that he lost the belt for good because he could not maintain a winning streak. Sterling won his second fight with Petr Yan after he got the belt. He was better prepared and more dominant. Sterling’s winning streak has continued. He will now compete against Henry Cejudo. Petr Yan only won one of five fights.
