IPL 2023 KKR vs MI Mumbai Indians Won by 5 Wickets

Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday by 5 wickets. Venkatesh scored 104 runs in 49 balls and a hundred in 49 balls. KKR only managed to score 185/6 with their 20 overs. MI, in turn, chased the required total down with just 14 balls remaining. Ishan Kishan smashed a 50, and Suryakumar Yadav smashed 43 runs.

Venkatesh scored a hundred in 49 balls and helped Kolkata Knight Riders reach 185/6. Iyer’s knock was over, otherwise KKR might have been able to get past 200. Andre Russell’s unbeaten 21-run knock put the finishing touch on Kolkata’s score.

Suryakumar Yadav, the Mumbai Indians captain in place of Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Arjun Tendulkar makes his Mumbai Indians’ debut today. Duan Jansen takes over from Behrendroff. Nitish rana reveals he wants to bat and KKR has not made any changes to their playing XI.

The five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI), who are home for the IPL 2023 match number 22, will host Kolkata Knight Riders in order to continue their winning streak. 22, in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma & Co. were able break their winless run in their last match against Delhi Capitals. KKR, however, went down fighting against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday night in a high scoring match at Eden Gardens.

Rohit Sharma’s 65-run match-winning performance against Delhi Capitals was impressive, but the MI captain must now be consistent, particularly when Suryakumar is having a bad patch.

Mumbai Indians, however, will face additional pressure at Wankhede Stadium because they haven’t been able harness their potential in IPL 2023.

KKR has had their fair share of highs (two wins) and lows (as many losses). They are ranked fourth in the points table, with a net run rate of 0.711, compared to Mumbai Indians at ninth place with only two points and -0.879 NRR.

Rinku Singh, a left-handed batsman who has scored 48 and 58 runs in his two last appearances at No 7, will be MI’s biggest threat. KKR has also scored runs from Nitish Rana (skipper), Venkatesh, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shardul. This means that MI will need to perform at their very best.

KKR also has some concerns in their all-rounder Andre Russell who has had a difficult time with the bat this IPL. Russell was unable to complete his quota against SRH on Friday night in Kolkata due to cramps. However, his three wickets kept KKR in this game for a very long time.

Gurbaz’s performance at the top has been impressive. It will be interesting to see if KKR wants to experiment with the explosive English batsman Jason Roy. Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Litton Das have all taken wickets recently for KKR.
