Chris Cooke, a South African who plays for Glamorgan, was in top form when he scored a century in 38 balls during the team’s match against Middlesex on Wednesday (31st May). This was part of the 21st edition Vitality T20 Blast. Cooke could also have made Vitality Blast history by becoming the first batter to score a century in the fastest time possible. The Middlesex bowlers were smashed all over the park by the right-handed batter. Cooke finished his innings with a score of 113, which was unbeaten. He scored it off 41 balls. Cooke scored 12 boundaries and 7 sixes during his innings.
Cooke’s inning made the fans jump from their seats. They also looked for the fastest centuries in the history. Cooke’s effort was impressive, but he couldn’t even make it into the top five fastest century scorers in the T20 Blast.
Cooke needed to reach the milestone in just 37 balls in order to hold the record of the third fastest century in tournament history.
