The popular tweet “Dear Cricket”, sent by the veteran Indian cricketer, was shared on Twitter.
The Lucknow Super Goliaths mission in IPL 2023 suffered a huge blow on Friday when their captain KL Rahul, who caused a physical injury in a match against Imperial Challengers Bangalore, was ruled out for the remainder of the competition.
Karun Nair was later named as his replacement by LSG. LSG made it public when they shared the “Dear Cricket’ tweet by the veteran India player.
LSG revealed on Friday that “Further testing and outputs have tragically confirmed a large tear in Rahul’s Ligament which will require medical treatment.”
The truth is that he was also stripped of his World Test title last year, and this will take place in one month at The Oval when Australia plays England.
The same day they shared Nair’s viral tweet from December announcing that he was Rahul’s replacement for the entire season.
Nair, India’s second-highest triple-centurion in Test Cricket, posted on Twitter that he was disqualified from the Ranji trophy and asked, “Dear cricket, give me another chance.”
Nair is playing his 10th IPL, where he has played 76 matches and scored 1496 run, including 10 fiftys, for four different teams.
The RCB franchise selected him in 2013. He played there for two seasons, before moving on to the Rajasthan Royals.
In 2013, he made his mark in domestic cricket. In 2016 and 2017, he addressed Delhi Thrill Seekers (now Delhi Capitals), before moving to Punjab.
In 2022 he returned back to Rajasthan. He was released from the team after only three games in which he scored 16 runs. LSG has signed the India star at a cost of INR 50 lakhs.
LSG is currently ranked second on the points table, with 11 points. They have won five of their ten matches. They lost one point after their match at home against Chennai Super Kings had to be postponed because of rain.
The Gujarat Titans will be their opponents in Ahmedabad on May 7.
