PSG Suspends Messi For Two Weeks Due To Unapproved Trip To Saudi Arabia

After this season, the French club would not have had the opportunity to develop Lionel Messi’s height further. The suspension is therefore a sensitive time.

According to the Related Press, a source with knowledge of the matter informed them on Tuesday that Lionel Messi had been suspended from Paris Saint-Germain because he went to Saudi Arabia unpermitted.

The individual did specify the duration of the suspension but French media reported it to have lasted for 14 days. The individual did not want to be identified publicly, so he spoke anonymously. Messi would miss PSG’s two next games for 14 days. RMC Game, L’Equipe and other publications explained the suspension without citing sources.

Related Press was informed by the individual that Messi will not receive payment while he is suspended, and will also not be allowed to train or play with the team. The individual confirmed that PSG had denied Messi’s deals to move. Messi, 35, is a Saudi Arabian businessman who runs a company to help the manufacturing sector.

The suspension of the Argentinean star comes at a difficult time for the French club, which had hoped to extend Messi’s contract past this season. Messi’s departure was triggered by PSG’s unexpected loss of 3-1 to Lorient, on Sunday. The result gave the reigning champions a significant lead over Marseille, with only five games left in the season. Messi was in every single game.

According to L’Equipe’s Christophe Galtier, he said that he’d give his players two extra days off if PSG beat Lorient Monday and Tuesday. After all, the group had practiced on Sunday and a weekend of three days on Tuesday.

The forward has been at PSG for a while now, with the goal of leading them to the difficult Legends Affiliation championship. The Qatari-based group has lost two consecutive rounds of the 16 round competition. After reports of failed talks between PSG and him, there have been rumors about his immediate future. Some PSG fans have actually booed Messi in the past during their group’s conflicting efforts.

Messi led Argentina to victory at the World Cup in December. With 15 goals and assist, he is the leader in France’s league. Messi hasn’t publicly commented on the suspensions of his online entertainment account.
