According to Forbes, Real Madrid will be the World’s Most Valuable Soccer Team in 2023. The 14-time Champions League champions have been ranked number one for the second consecutive year after taking the top spot in 2022.
Real Madrid topped the ranking due to a 19% increase in its value. This growth was due to the brand value of $1.014 billion and a $400 million deal signed with CVC.
Real Madrid is one of only three clubs to make it onto the list. The top 30 places in the list, besides these three Spanish teams, are dominated by Premier League club.
Manchester United is the second-ranked team with a value of $6 billion. For the first time, The Red Devils have reached a valuation of $6 billion. Man Utd was one of the 12 Premier League teams that made this year’s list.
Barcelona secured third place after a 20% increase in their valuation. The Catalan club’s current valuation is around $4.76billion. The two Premier League giants Liverpool, and Manchester City are both valued at $5.29 billion and $4.99.
There are other clubs listed in the list than the top five.
The list includes many clubs besides the top five, such as Newcastle United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-German.
Bayern Munich, the German giants, is ranked sixth with a value of $4.86 Billion. This is 7% more than its rival Borussia Dortmund, which has a value of $1.93 billion.
Paris Saint-German, the French giant, is ranked seventh with a value of $4.21billion. Since 2021, the club’s valuation has increased after signing Lionel Messi.
Chelsea is ranked eighth with a value of $3.1 billion. Chelsea is the only team on the list to have a value change of 0% in a year. The reason for this is due to some unneeded signings made in the January transfer period. Tottenham Hotspurs is in ninth place with a value of $2.8 billion, and Arsenal is tenth with $2.26.
