Referee Marc Goddard got Into Fight with Fighter for Choking Opponent too Long

Mixed martial arts are known as a violent sport. Fighting takes place in a cage with fighters from around the globe. Fighters often lose their lives in certain fights. After brutal combat, fighters often show respect to each other. In some cases, however, fighters can become arrogant after a win. Referees can be angered by these displays of arrogance.

Marc Goddard, a veteran referee who has worked in MMA for many years, is a well known MMA personality. He is highly respected in the sport, and he is passionate about the safety of fighters in the arena. Goddard became enraged when Ahmad Al Darmaki, a mixed martial artist, did not obey his orders.

The UAE Warriors 12 event held in 2020 was successful. The event was marred by controversy when Ahmad Al Darmaki did not follow the instructions of referee Marc Goddard. Darmaki won the fight and submitted his opponent during the first round. The Arab fighter did not let go, even though his opponent had tapped out due to a rear-naked choke. The fighter refused to accept the referee’s decision that Ahmad’s opponent should be pulled off by his arm. A scuffle ensued when Goddard was successful in his attempt.

Ahmad Al Darmaki’s Marc Goddard decision clearly upset him. In anger, the fighter started to push the official. The entourage stormed into the cage in response to the altercation. Ahmad Al Darmaki has been disqualified for the lack of discipline within the cage. The Arab fighter was disqualified and the victory went to his opponent Bogdan Kiilenko.

When veteran ref Marc Goddard got in a fight with Conor McGregor

Charlie Ward and John Redmon would be fighting at Bellator 187. Veteran Conor McGregor joined the fighter in the cage as he celebrated the win.

Referee Marc Goddard attempted to stop ‘Notorious as he entered cage. Referees have a duty in MMA to stop anyone but the team from entering the octagon. Conor McGregor became enraged after Marc Goddard tried to remove him from his cage.

To stop the fighter, the Irishman’s entourage stepped into the cage. McGregor was able to push the referee despite these attempts. The referee was also yelled at for doing his work. The fighter was visibly angry that the referee refused to celebrate his friend’s win.

Bellator was held in Dublin. Charlie Ward, a UFC star’s close friend, was at the event. Conor McGregor and Charlie Ward are close friends. They wanted to celebrate their victory together.
