Roger Federer seems happy with his career after playing tennis. He attended the Miami Grand Prix Sunday (7 May). The 41-year old is enjoying his retirement while his rivals Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have injuries.
Nadal is still recovering from a hip injury he sustained during the Australian Open 2023 in January. The 22-time Grand Slam champion missed the Monte-Carlo Masters and Madrid Masters. He has now pulled out of the Rome Masters next week.
Federer expressed his hope to see Nadal play at the French Open this year. It would be brutal. Federer said that it would be difficult for tennis to be without Rafael.

The World No.1 Novak Djokovic is also suffering from elbow pain, which has caused him to withdraw from the Madrid Open. Djokovic was denied entry into the US because of his vaccination status for the 2023 Indian Wells Open and the 2023 Miami Open. He was also knocked out of both Monte-Carlo Masters, and Banja Luka. He is expected back in Rome.
Federer brought up Novak Djokovic’s recent injuries while talking about Nadal. ” He pulled out of Rome, so I wish him well. And then obviously Novak hasn’t been playing that much so I also hope he will be strong.”
The 2009 French Open champion also talked about youngsters who could be a force in the Clay Grand Slam. Like Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Barcelona Open and Madrid Open. He will enter the French Open with a strong chance of winning if Nadal or Djokovic withdraw from the tournament due to injury.
“And obviously all the young boys coming through, as well.” Federer concluded, “I’ll definitely be watching.”
