The deal included more than $179,000,000 of guaranteed money. After the historic contract extension by Skip bayless , Fox Sports analyst claimed that NFL teams want a Black quarterback to represent their team.
Skip Bayless, a long-time Fox Sports analyst, claimed in a recent UNDISPUTED episode that the NFL has made incredible progress with regard to Black quarterbacks.
“Here is where we are today. I look at the Top Paid Quarterbacks in the National Football League and their total value of deals, and I say, wait a minute, six out of seven top QBs were Black QBs,”said Bayless. This is a huge step forward. Now, it is commonplace and desirable to have a Black quarterback .”
Bayless went on to mention that the Top 3 QB Prospects in the 2023 Draft Class are also Black quarterbacks. Bayless claims that the NFL has made progress over the years by pointing to the Black quarterbacks who were selected as the NFL Draft’s first signal callers, including Michael Vick and Cam Newton.
Skip Bayless was outraged when the Eagles selected Jalen Hurts
Even Eagles fans questioned the selection of Jalen Hurts by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round 2020 NFL Draft because they already had Carson Wentz at quarterback.
Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl, so it was a wise decision. He just signed a five-year contract with the Eagles, worth up to $255 million. This makes him the highest paid NFL player ever.
Hurts was always a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Skip Bayless, a longtime Dallas Cowboys supporter. He claimed that he was disappointed to see his arch-rivals draft the talented Jalenhurts in 2020.
“I hate the Eagles, and I abhor the fact that Jalen Hurts, a quarterback who I admire is now an Eagle. Bayless said, “I just can’t bear the thought because I told you right from the beginning.” Hurts is a quarterback he loves and he has the leadership to take a team into the playoffs.
It seems that Bayless and Eagles GM Howie roseman both made the right predictions. The Eagles have just extended Jalen Hults’s Super Bowl window for another five years.
