Song Yadong was able break his five-fight winning streak with a dominant performance. He began with a strong boxing performance and was able to find success with the left hook and his counters. Yadong was able to keep his opponent close to the fence and put pressure on him. Ricky’s jabs were also not very effective, but the Kung Fu Kid dominated the fight. Song Yadong was able to knock Simon down in the fifth and then overwhelm him with strikes until the fight ended.
Song Yadong stated in his post-fight interviews that he would like to face any of the top 5 bantamweights. He believes that the UFC will not let him face Sean O’Malley because they want to protect Suga Sean. Even Font – he is No. 6. Chito Vera, Sean O’Malley are fine. But they won’t probably give me Sean O’Malley. They want him to be protected. What matters is that you are in the top five. Song: “My goal is to compete with the top five fighters in this year .”.”
Song forgot to mention that he also wanted to fight Petr Yán. Fans can expect to see the Kung Fu Kid fight in August or July, depending on the weather conditions. Yadong could be on a straight path to the title if he wins any of his top five opponents.
Song Yadong wins performance of the Night Bonus at UFC Vegas 72
UFC Vegas 72 featured a fight between Song Yadong, also known as the Kung Fu Kid. Song Yadong (also known as the Kung Fu Kid) was coming off of a defeat in his previous fight against Cory Sandhagen. Ricky Simon, meanwhile, was coming off of a five-fight winning streak. Song Yadong began his fight with a lot of intensity.
Song caught Ricky with a guillotine after Ricky was knocked out in the first round. Simon survived a fight that could have ended in the very first round. Song’s wrestling and takedown defence skills were on display as he stopped every takedown during the fight. Ricky was constantly pushed against the fence by Song’s boxing. In the final round of the fight, Song knocked Simon down and then threw a series of punches until he was stopped.
Yadong won the $50,000 bonus for winning the fifth round. Fans can expect the Kung Fu Kid to face any top 5 bantamweights in his next bout after this performance.
