Royal Challengers Bangalore RCB batter Virat Kohli was fined 10% of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct on Monday, April 17th at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The IPL released a statement that read: ” Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB’s) Virat Kohli was fined 10% of his match fee after he violated the IPL Code of Conduct in the TATA Indian premier League (IPL 2023) match against Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
“Mr. Kohli has admitted to the Level I offence as per Article 2.2 of IPL Code of Conduct,” the statement continued.
The statement didn’t specify the incident for which Kohli was fined. However, it is likely that it came from his celebration following Shivam Dube being dismissed. Dube scored 52 runs in 27 balls. A delivery from Wayne Parnell was caught by Mohammed Siraj. After failing to chase down 227, the hosts were eight runs behind the MS Dhoni led side.
