Who do the Celtics Will be Playing Next? The Playoff Path Explained

After a long and hard fought battle, the Boston Celtics ended the season of the Atlanta Hawks. Many thought that Boston would win the series in a clean sweep. Trae Youth, however, had other plans. The Hawks and Trae Young pulled off a surprising win in Boston in Game 5, extending the series to Game 6 at their home. The Jayson T. Tatum led Boston Celtics, however, were determined to revenge their Game 5 surprise loss.

After winning the first round of playoffs 4-2 over the Hawks, the Celtics are now in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Game 6 was a close-fought head-to-head match and many thought the series would go to Game 7. The Celtics did not let this belief slip as they shut down the Hawks offense in the final quarter, outscoring them by 10 to win 128-120.

The Boston Celtics went on an incredible 14-3 run in the last minutes of the game. This left the Hawks behind them on the scoreboard. Trae You had a good first half, but then slowed down in the second. He scored 30 point, grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out three assists. Dejounte Murry, who contributed 14 points, eleven assists and seven rebounds, was his co-player.

But it wasn’t enough to beat the Celtics star trio. As Jayson Tatem (30 point, 7 assist, and 14 rebounds), and Marcus Smart (32, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 32 points) combined to end the series in Atlanta. Marcus Smart dropped 22 points to back them up. They won the Eastern Conference Semifinals with their heroics.
