In a podcast recently, WWE Senior Vice President for Live Events “Road Dogg” stated that Rey Mysterio came close to winning 50-Man Royal Rumble Match.
In 2018, the main event of this spectacular event was one of the most massive matches ever seen. The biggest and most epic Royal Rumble in WWE history featured fifty superstars. Braun Strowman was the one who beat the odds to win the match. The 39-year old showed unfathomable endurance, ultimately winning the main event.
Road Dogg, WWE Hall of Famer, recited some interesting stories about the event while speaking on the “Oh You Didn’t Know” Podcast. The WWE legend praised the producers for and the superstars who “pulled together the match.” In addition, he revealed an astonishing thing when he talked about the original plans of WWE. Road Dogg revealed that Rey Mysterio’s was the original name pitched for the match.
The WWE HOF went on to explain the underlying reasons behind this. He stated that the company was planning to make him the victor since the legendary Luchador returned after a long break. He also said that WWE is more fanatical about Braun Strowman. The HOF stated that WWE was “pushing” him as a huge monster, and they therefore handpicked him for the match.
Strowman then went on to do the impossible and create history in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The Greatest Royal Rumble is a moment that will live on forever in history. The event was truly historic for both the WWE officials and the WWE superstars. It has not only transcended the time but also left a huge footprint in Saudi Arabia.

Braun Strowman, one of the biggest WWE stars on the roster, is a very popular wrestler. He currently works in the tag division with , Ricochet. The WWE Universe, however, hasn’t seen Strowman for some time. According to PWInsider the 39-year old suffered a concussion that has kept him out of action.
The reports also state that WWE has pulled him out of several live events and house shows. Strowman’s injury is not well-documented, so it’s hard to know what the situation is. It appears that the former Universal Champion may be out of ring action for a long time. It will be fascinating to see if Braun Strowman returns prior to WWE’s Night of Champions.
