WWE star Baron Corbin has seen his career on the decline for a couple of years. He has fallen from a WWE superstar to a jobber. He did however, win his 1st since a long while during a WWE Live Event in Paris. Looks like he might be in for a big change very soon.
Baron Corbin once dominated the industry, and was a key player in some of the most compelling stories. He was even portrayed as an authoritarian character in one storyline, and was a “Constable” for the main roster. The 38-year old also won the “King of the Ring” tournament. All that changed when Corbin lost against Shinsuke in a “Battle for Crown match. WWE has not used him in any storylines since then.
Corbin is also on a losing streak. He has suffered 22 consecutive losses. His last victory was in November 2022. Fans gave up and were skeptical of WWE’s decision to push him onto the main roster.
This week, Baron Corbin took part in WWE’s tour of Europe. Corbin’s first win in a while came at the live event that took place in Paris on April 29. Corbin’s win was one of the most memorable moments in the entire show. The fans also gave him a warm reception for his amazing victory.
Baron Corbin played a singles against Rick Boogs. Corbin won with a quick roll up. The crowd cheered loudly. The former United States Champion broke his streak after 22 consecutive losses. A win is a victory, even though it was not televised.
The crowd gave Corbin a standing ovation after the match as he celebrated the first victory he had in months. It was a huge moment for Corbin. It will be fascinating to see if the 38-year old continues his momentum in the main roster. Click here to watch the video.
Will Baron Corbin draft in WWE Draft 2023?
Baron Corbin is in a bad situation since he lost the title to Shinsuke Nakamura. The Triple H teamed him up with JBL for a storyline, but it didn’t last after Corbin started a losing streak. After Corbin was belittled, the Hall of Famer turned away from him. WWE also showed Corbin in segments backstage where other stars were seen ridiculing and mocking him.
Baron Corbin was not a part the WWE Draft in 2017. It’s possible that he will be unable to participate in the WWE Draft this year, since his name is nowhere on the list. It’s possible that Corbin will not be drafted again this year, even though there is another draft night. This could lead to him changing his gimmick. The fans, however, have been eagerly awaiting Corbin’s push. Baron Corbin, after all, is the superstar that gave Roman reigns its last pinfall defeat in 2019 during a singles match.
